The Medal Of Honor

Sergeant Meyer.

As you all know the Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government. It is bestowed by the President, in the name of Congress, upon members of the United States Armed Forces.
This evening Seargeant Dakota Meyer came to visit our school and held a speech.
Seargeant Meyer saved the lives of 13 U.S. Marines and soldiers in addition to 23 Afghan soldiers. Meyer personally killed at least eight Taliban insurgents, while providing cover for his team to fight their way out and escape certain death. Therefore Obama handed him the Medal of Honor.

Still after all his valiant effort, Meyer does not consider himself a hero. “The heroes are the men and women still serving,” he said.

His speech has been very interesting. It was amazing what every class of the school had done for him. There has been one class of pre-schoolers who sang the song "God Bless America". That was so cute! The whole hallway has been decorated with posters drawn by the kids. On the posters there were written hilarious sentences like "Thank you for saving the USA!" or "Your heroness is amazing!". All in all it was a great evening.
Instead of that the week has been very normal. I changed from Tringonometry class into Physical Science Class because I really didn't get a thing in Trigonometry, haha.
But this is not really interesting. So whatever, I hope you had a great Saturday and I wish you a great Sunday too!
Tomorrow is going to be te Superbowl. It seems to be a very important football game between the patriots and the giants... However, there will be a party at church. I'm probably not going to watch the game, haha. But it'll be fun. See you, guys! ♥
